Description

Magnesia chrome bricks are refractory products with magnesium oxide (MgO) and chromium trioxide (Cr2O3) as the main components, and periclase and spinel as the main mineral components. It has high refractoriness, strong resistance to alkaline slag erosion, good thermal stability, and certain resistance to acidic slag.

Magnesia chrome bricks are alkaline refractory products, generally produced from sintered magnesia (MgO content between 89% and 92%) and refractory grade chromium bricks. Due to many impurities, the refractory grains are bonded with silicate. Also known as silicate-bonded magnesia-chromium bricks, or magnesia-chromium bricks for short.
Magnesia-chromium bricks are made of periclase and magnesia-chromium spinel as the main crystal phases. They are fired at 1600~1800℃ in an oxidizing atmosphere. They can also be made into unfired bricks with chemical binding agents such as water glass.
Features of magnesia chrome bricks:
The refractoriness is greater than 2000°C, the load softening temperature is generally above 1550°C, the high temperature volume stability is good, and the resistance to rapid cooling and rapid heating is good.
